Austin Black Physicians Association Partners with Ascension Seton to Advance Black Physicians and Healthier Communities

AUSTIN, TX, UNITED STATES, September 1, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ -- The Austin Black Physicians Association (ABPA) is proud to announce a new partnership with Ascension Seton in support of ABPA’s work to advance Black physicians, develop future medical leaders, and strengthen the communities they serve.

For 10 years, ABPA has been building something larger than a professional network. The organization has worked to create pathways for students who can see themselves in medicine, connection and support for Black physicians throughout their careers, and greater trust between physicians and the communities they serve.

Ascension Seton’s collaboration recognizes the power of that work and the ripple effect that happens when Black physicians are supported, elevated, and positioned to lead.

Representation in medicine matters far beyond representation itself. It can influence whether a young person believes becoming a physician is possible. It can strengthen trust between patients and providers. It can create mentorship opportunities that change the trajectory of a future physician’s life. And ultimately, it can help build healthier communities.

This year, the organization celebrates its 10th anniversary, a decade shaped by physicians who chose to mentor, students who continued pursuing medicine despite the obstacles in front of them, community members who trusted ABPA to show up, and partners who believed that greater representation in medicine could create meaningful change.

On September 19, 2026, ABPA will bring those stories together at its 10th Anniversary Gala at the W Austin. The evening will honor what the past decade has made possible while focusing on what still needs to be built: more pathways for future Black physicians, stronger mentorship, deeper physician connection, greater community outreach, and continued work to strengthen trust in care.
